My Half Square Triangles

If you haven’t seen this BEAUTIFUL fabric yet, you need too!!!  It is designed by Ami Sinbaldi for AGF fabrics.  If you don’t know anything about her, go check out her blog… blog .  She is so talented and I have made a few of her things.  She titled this fabric Charleston and I added one of her other lines that go together perfectly, Les Petites.

I knew I waned to do some half square triangles so I searched and searched for a pattern that spoke to me and this is what I found…it is found by Riley Blake Designs and even better, it was FREE!  I love free!

Not only is this just the cutest fabric, it feels so soft and silky

Chain piecing….

Keep going….

This thread cutter was in a Sew Sampler Box a couple of months ago that Fat Quarter Shop  does.  It is ALWAYS filled with wonderful surprises and this was super helpful to me!

Once you are done sewing on one side of the line, start over and do the other side.  Now cut on the pencil line and you have a pile of half square triangles.  Press open with the seam pressed toward the darker fabric.

Time to true up those squares

You begin to wonder if you will ever got done with that stack, but stick to it and I promise you will.

There is just something satisfying about those scrapes and a beautiful pile of perfect 4 1/2″ squares.

Layout your block before you begin sewing, it is easy to get them facing the wrong way…trust me on that.

I love how they are turning out and I love this fabric!!

Four of 12 blocks done…I will keep you posted.  Life is calling for now….
