I was on instagram and if anyone is like me, I take a photo of quilt blocks or sewing projects that catch my eye and then keep them in mind for my “projects in between projects”. This was one of those projects that I just had to try and I have to say, it was challenging in the beginning. After my forth attempt, I had it figured out. The pattern comes from aspoonfulofsugardesigns . Give it a try, I think you will be hooked! Here is my journey…
This was my first block finished…I was just using this fabric by Bonnie and Camille as a tester. I have lots of scraps because I own all of their lines of fabric!
The fabric I used to complete was project is by 3 sisters, White Washed Cottage. I love the soft subtle colors. If you go to etsy, you can still find it. Make sure if you do paper piecing you use a small stitch length, as you pull away the paper the stitches won’t pop.
The little tea cup and saucer was something I received when I was around 9 years old. I loved playing make believe and those little cups and saucers were washed a hundred times even though they never had real food touch them.
I love how this turned out, its just so sweet and perfectly stitched.
Sometimes in order to get better at something you have to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. I felt like this project made me grow.
